Meet the Staff
Benjamin Trewben
Having graduated from Curtin University in 2000 Ben has gained vast experience in both private practice & Public sector podiatry here & in the UK.
With 3 years at Royal Perth Hospital (18 months as senior podiatrist) & 2 years in public sector podiatry in the UK, Ben has extensive experience in managing Diabetic & other high risk feet.
Before studying podiatry Ben completed 2 years of a Sports Science degree & was an active Level 1 Sports Trainer. This love of sports & biomechanics has helped Ben deliver effective podiatry care for active people who like to stay on their feet. Ben uses a vast array of mobilisation, myofascial release & dry needling techniques to compliment his other podiatry skills to improve foot function & relieve pain.
In his spare time Ben loves spending time with his small (but growing) family & participates socially in triathlon events.
Scot Thomas
After graduating from Queensland University of Technology Scot moved to Perth and began working at Royal Perth Hospital with a focus on diabetic high risk foot care. He is a published author of a journal article looking at improving offloading for diabetic clients. Scot has completed courses in dry needling as well as mobilisation and enjoys using these techniques to help patients with pain management as well as increasing foot function. Scot enjoys an active lifestyle and is involved in cycling, running and triathlons.
Esther Ling
Esther Graduated from The University Of Western Australia in 2013 & joined the Step Ahead Podiatry Team in 2014. Esther had spent some time at Step Ahead Podiatry in both 3rd & 4th years as part of her clinical rotation & was the clear stand out of all the students of her year group that attended Step Ahead Podiatry for placement. Esther has an overwhelming enthusiasm to help her clients & attended external courses as a student to become proficient in dry needling techniques & foot joint mobilisation techniques. This willingness to go the extra mile shines through in her care & attention to detail when tending to her client’s concerns.
Esther’s spare time is now spent looking after the new addition to her family who joined them in March 2019.
Esther is only available at the Rockingham Autum Centre for appointments now.
Jack Magraith
Jack graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2020 & joined Stepahead Podiatry in early 2021. Jack loves helping his clients overcome any pain condition affecting the foot or lower leg. jack is an avid sportsman himself & continues to play & coach basketball.

The wonderful front desk staff of Step Ahead Podiatry. With extensive experience working in reception our front desk staff are always happy to do that bit extra and they will always try to find an appointment that suits you.
